This piece is something a little different for me. I actually originally began this artwork some time ago, thought it was finished.... but it just never felt quite right. 

This week I felt inspired to revisit it, I added a whole new layer, and am so much happier with the final result : ) It now feels really complete.

But decided to take it to a MUCH bigger scale.

Making progress

Well I am gathering up quite a collection of artworks, as you can see in the photo below (hooray!)

I have been painting everyday that I am not at my 'day job' as well as some nights.

Some of my artworks are finished, some are nearly there. 

Some I am proud of, others I'm not sure of!

To be honest I am still trying to come to terms with learning when my pieces are 'finished' - I have found I often continue to look and just want to do one more layer, fiddle with one little thing. 

I am working on stepping back and knowing when to stop.

Once I have enough 'stock' I am planning on testing the waters at local markets, or perhaps hang them in a local cafe, and test the response from the public?!

This is my latest artwork, the piece is part of a series I am currently working on.

(I am hoping to exhibit the whole series in the future - will keep you posted)

This piece is about how what you see or the way someone presents themselves to the world may not truly reflect what they are feeling inside.
It reminds me of a quote I have seen posted around from time to time 

'Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about'

This woman is trying to keep up appearances, but can no longer keeping up the facade, for a brief moment covers her face with her hands as her feelings threaten to overwhelm her, she can no longer repress them and show her pretty, happy face. The flowers in her hair, as well as the bright happy colours throughout the artwork are in contrast to her obvious despair.

Even though to the outside world she seems beautiful, inside she feels broken.
